Happy Canada Day! Now on to the Celebration of Lights

With the exciting display of the Canada Day fireworks behind us – and I must admit, that finally was something quite spectacular.  It’s time to plan for our next fireworks extravaganza. The great thing about the Celebration of Lights is the actual celebrations that have grown around it.  The Sat and Wed of July and Aug have become a daily event at the beach, unless you want to fight the crowds and potentially the VPD for a good spot to view the fireworks. SHOREFEST is now entering its 6th year as one of Vancouver’s largest, free community concert series. Started in 2009 in conjunction with the Celebration of Light fireworks, it showcases some of Canada’s top musical acts in one of Vancouver’s most picturesque settings on the shores of English Bay. Over the course of 3 nights in the summer, hundreds of thousands of spectators gather at English Bay to enjoy the fireworks presentations while being entertained by acts on stages located on the Bathhouse Roof at English Bar and in the park at Sunset Beach. This years lineup includes: The Sheepdogs 5440 The Odds Current Swell Spirit of the West and more… For more info on SHOREFEST click here!
